Anthony Richard Conigliaro (January 7, 1945 – February 24, 1990), nicknamed "Tony C" and "Conig", was a Major League Baseball outfielder and right-handed batter who played for the Boston Red Sox (1964–67, 1969–1970, 1975) and California Angels (1971). Born in Revere, Massachusetts, he was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lynn, Massachusetts.

In 1965 he began to record songs, which he would do until the mid-70s. For RCA he recorded in 1965 the song "I Can't Get Over You" with a non-accredited backing group, this song has a good oriented doo wop sound for the year that is done.

On this occasion in this blog you can see a rarity from 1961, the letter sent to disc Jockey Joe Knight, a legendary Baltimore radio personality who was known to several generations of WFBR and WCBM listeners as "Joe Knight, the Knight of the Spinning Roundtable" . asking to be played on his radio show the song "Enchanted Summer" by The Bachelor Three.

My latest upload to my YouTube channel is the Spanish version of the Little Anthony & The Imperials classic doo wop song "Tears On My Pillow" performed in 1975 by the Mexican group, Los Rebeldes del Rock.

I think it is a version little known by the collectors of doo wop in Spanish.

No name of the group is provided in the video, only this comment ... "This document would have been filmed by WFGA-TV of Jacksonville in the program entitled" The Velda Show "in 1958 with among others Johnny Tillotson before his first contract withCadence records, most of the artists would be students of the Paxon High School, I miss information, if you recognize someone, do not hesitate to inform me "

As the author of the video says, if anyone has information about this group, let them know.

Chuck Mills from Wheat Ridge Co, is present in the doo wop guides with..

-Who Was The Fool / She's Mine-1959.

-Who Was The Fool / Ding Dong-1960.

Actually the first record were pressed as THE MONARCHS featuring Chuck Mills and the second as CHUCK MILLS & The Monarchs.

These sides have a poor doo wop sound.

Chuck Thomas (from The Four Chevelles) with ...

The Hitchhikers ... are present ...In the doo wop guides with ...

-Why Baby / Let Our Hearts Be Our Guide. Band Box records-1964.

In the Complete Book of Doo Wop as...Chuck Thomas & The Hitchhikers.

In the Jeff Kreiter guide as...Chuck Thomas & Group.

In the Band Box label as...Chuck Thomas with Johnny & The Hitchhikers.

And here the confusion begins.

Some sources say that The Hitchhikers were never on this recording, others say they were, but that the record label was wrong and labeled them Johnny & The Hitchhikers and lastly I think it is the correct theory that Chuck was back up by a girl group and that The Hitchhikers was the instrumental backing band.

Surely this German group from the late 90's, The C-Five is very little known by fans of doo wop music, but for my taste they have a very good white group sound from the 50's.
