This group/band was formed in 1962 and were very locally popular with the above record. they back up to Little Anthony & The Imperials, Brenda Lee or The Drifters also singing in live acts with Roy Orbison, Ben E. King and Jerry Lee Lewis, in 1968 change their name to The Single Swingers but Jim Lindell's brother, Steve formed another Mystic's group and recorded the songs_What About Our Love / Ragtime. on the Trump label (no present in the doo wop guides).

The A side was originally recorded in 1949 by Gordon Jenkins and his Orchestra (Vocal chorus by Joe Graydon).
With the rise of the doo wop sound, Joe made the doowop version of that song in 1959 (some sources date this song from 1958, 59 and even 1960).

This vocal group from Houston, Texas began their musical career in 1955 as The Velvetones hosted by Tony A. Montalbano, Bob Downs and Ronnie Kemp and another guy whose name is not remembered.
At the end of 1956 the group called themselves The Saints and consisted of Tony Montalbano, Glenn Carlin, Johnny Smit, Ronnie Kemp and Julian Barnett.
They signed for the Jimmy Duncan, Cue Records label (Jimmy, Photo above, was a well-known songwriter, singer, composer , author, arranger and producer), The group recorded three singles on this label ...
-I Rocked When I Shoulda Rolled / Will You -1957.
-Turtle Dove / Take Me Back -1957.
-Honky Tonk Baby / Ain’t Cha Ever Comin ’Home -1958.
And finally Prescott records from Detroit released the Saint's sides...
-Doin The Stroll / Snap Dragon -1958.

They have a classic pop and Rock & Roll white sound from the mid-50s and with the appearance of the harmonic doo wop sound the group lost strength and very soon disappeared, but in 1962 Tony and Ron reappeared as THE GLENS recording for All Boy records the sides " Good Golly Dolly / It's Too Late To Cry ".
