Listen to Tony with his group The Bassetts in 1966 with the song "A Little Love From You" recorded for Mercury records.

Many collectors are unaware of this recording of Tony.

The Jaywalkers were one of the first rock and roll bands from Asbury Park, New Jersey and forerunners of the Jersey Shore sound. Started by high school classmates in Manasquan, New Jersey in 1958.


The founding members were John Shaw (drums), Jim “Jack Valentine” Cattanach (guitar and vocals), John “Cos” Consoli (saxophone and vocals), and Bob Carlson (bass).

They are present in the doo wop guides with...

-Oh Babe / My Bonnie. Pam records-1962. In 1966 re-released on the Laurie label with the sides "Love At First Sight / Oh Babe".

-I Do / I Got My Own Goin. Selsom records-1966.

These two sides don't have a doo wop sound.

THE REVIVAL YEARS...Reunion

Revival group of the late 80's from the Jersey Shore area around Seaside Heights consisted of Steve Schmidt (Lead), Lou Spinelli (First Tenor), Rom Meyer (Tenor), Jack Sitmcsak (Baritone) and Dennis Chervenak (Bass).

In the mid-sixties Steve, Ron and Dennis recorded acappella for Snowflake records with his group The Chime-Times.


They records for Clifton records one Lp and two 45 rpm present in the doo wop guides...

 -"Wolderful Tonight / Cool Change".Clifton records-1987.

-"You Were Always On My Mind / Where Are You Tonight. Clifton records-1990.

As you can see, the photo that I have uploaded today is not that of a famous group or singer, it is a rare photo of Stanley R Krause known as Stan Krause, owner of the Catamount records, a label specialized in doo wop acappella since 1965 and it is surely a very rarely seen photo of him taken in the late 60's or early 70s.
