Probably singer and songwriter Carole King (in the talk part of the song) with singer (see in this blog; The Premiers on Dore Records) and producer and songwriter Marty Cooper with a studio group ( The Cookies?).

In 1962 backed to Trenton, NJ artist Jerry Evans on his Rowe sides...

-Oh Litlle Girl/You Care.

This disc was released originally (#001) with the B Side slow and re-released (#002) the same year with The B Side Fast.

THE CHALETS (Tru-Lite Records).

Group formed in 1956 in the corners of the Williamburg section of Brooklyn, N.Y. by Andy Moraglia, Donald Jones, Willie Calia, Phil Rao and Thomas Rock.

They auditioned for ABC Records but the label not signed the group and the guys continue practice and singing occasionally in local clubs.

In 1957 auditioned for the New York based label Tru-Lite Records with the sides_Who’s Laughing Who’s Crying/(Fat) Mom-Mio.

Without luck with the record companies Willie Calia left  to begin a solo career for MGM Records and Andy Moraglia also left to record with The Blendaires on Tin Pan Alley Records, these changes became The Chalets broke up.

Finally Tru-Lite relesed in 1961 the Chalet’s sides and The B Side have a good airplay locally, the record was reissued in the Dart and Musicnote records with the mentioned side as_Fat-Fat-Fat Mom-Mio-O. and with some variation, an obtrusive saxophone covering up the words "liquor store" in the intro and the end of the song is more short (problably from an alternative take from Tru-Lite Records).

In the 80’s Andy Moraglia reformed the group and this recorded for labels as L.I.R.R.A. or Starlight Records (see, Revival Years section).

THE REVIVAL YEARS...The Chalets

In 1980 Andy Moraglia original member of The Chalets on Tru-Lite Records (see, group history section) with Lenny Hunter (Lead singer of the Five Discs 1960 side-Come On Baby), Frank Fillipone, Roberta Buccola and Stanley (last name unknow) reformed the group.

In 1981 Frank and Stanley left and joined Frankie Perna and Victor Rodriguez, they recorded the jingle for Bill Dogherty’s radio show which was broadcast from the Adelphi University, Garden City, N.Y.

In 1962 Frankie left and was replaced by Joe Miranda (of The Endings) and the new recording Chalets were born with...

Lenny Hunter (Lead).
Roberta Buccola (1st Tenor).
Victor Rodriguez (2nd Tenor).
Joe Miranda (Baritone).
Andy Moraglia (Bass).

The group participe in many shows organized by the Long Island Rock & Roll Association ( L.I.R.R.A.) who in 1982 released the Chalet’s sides_My Foolish Heart/Walking My Baby Back Home.

After this recording Victor was replaced by Joe Noto. The group participe in many shows in the metropolitan area and in 1984 recorded for the Starlight label_Fat Fat Momio/Lily Maebelle. Followed by four sides on the Chanel label...

THE HILLTOPPERS (Dot Records)

The Hilltoppers were present in the Jeff Kreiter Vocal Group Record Guide with 38 singles recorded on Dot Records from 1952 to 1960. 

The group got its start in 1952 at Western Kentucky College in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Originally the group was a trio formed by three students; Jimmy Sacca, Donald McGuire and Seymour Spiegelman. They later added a pianist, Billy Vaughn. the group took their name from the nickname of Western Kentucky College's sports teams.

They have Hit records as_Trying. and_ P. S. I Love You. Their sound was more progressive than most of the pop groups of 1952. They were clearly influenced by the R&B groups of the time and actually became an inspiration of R&B/doo wop groups to come.

The Romans, consisting of Tony Godino, Lenny Guarino and Ronnie Serra, from Pittsburgh who recorded for Caldwell Records and that signed with Guyden Records on July 7, 1960.

THE DOUBLE DATES (Luck Records)

In late 1958 Benedict Franklyn Savage and Thomas Doherty from Long Island, NY have their own band, The Gents, they wrote and play some instrumental tunes but disbanded without made a recording.

Record producer, Vinny Catalano contacted with Ben and Frank to record some demos he wrote, the boys recruited Susan Virginia O’Rourk and Susan Elizabeth Crave and the Double Dates were born.


Left to right; Benedick F. Savage, Thomas Doherty, Susan E. Crave and Susan V. O'Rourk.

In July 1959 the group recorded_Tatoo (Ben & Sue O’Rourk on Lead)/I Love You Girl (Thomas & Sue Crave on Lead). Catalano released the sides on Autumn of 1959 on the Luck label, Ben re-write the demos but not receive any credit.

LITTLE JULIAN HERRERA (Dig, Starla, Essar & Emmo Records)

Little Julian Herrera  was born Ron Gregory in Massachussets to hungarian jewish parents (really its origins are unclear as well as his real name) adopted by a mexican-american family from East Los Angeles suburb of Boyle Heights.


In 1956 adopted the name Little Julian by their idols; Don Julian & The Meadowlarks and signed with Deejay and producer Johnny Otis who recorded the boy in the Dig label with the sides_Lonely Lonely Nights/In Exchange For Your Love. Problably with The Dig’s Premiers vocal group as back up.

The A Side have a good local airplay and Otis re-released the disc on his label Eldo Records in 1962

In the spring of 1957 Dig released two new sides_Symbol Of Love/Here In My Arms. without success.

In late 1957 Julian signed with record producer Art Laboe who introduced him to The Tigers a vocal group from Pomona, they recorded in the Starla label_I Remember Linda/True Fine Mama. as Little Julian Herrera & The Tigers.

The A Side (influenced by_I Still Remember. by The Roamncers) was a minor hit in L.A. because Art Laboe plugged it on his radio show, Starla was Laboe's label. and the group appearing in a San Diego theater show but in the end of the show the police came and arrested Julian accused of statutory rape with a young mexican girl.


In 1963 he was playing in a nightclub in Tijuana and rediscovered by Deejay Dick “Huggy Boy” Hugg and offered to act at El Monte. Huggy Boy released one single on his Essar label with an update version of_Lonely Lonely Night. b/w_I Want To Be With You. (actually pressed with two different takes from the A Side ) in this recording Julian was backed by the band from the Bellflower-Long Bech area, The Illusions.

After another recording for Emmo Records_Your Careless Love/You Will Cry. Julian disappeared into obscurity again.

Anyone have these three sides?.

The Fallen Angels started in 1965 in Washington, D.C. by Charlie "CJ" Jones - Vocals, Guitar and Harp, Jack Bryant - Bass and Vocals, Wally Cook - Guitar and Vocals and Ned Davis - Drums and Vocals. After a couple name changes in the first year they settled on The Fallen Angels. They played the Frog and the Keg in Georgetown. In 1966, recorded for Laurie Records.

Hispanic group from the Bakersfield area in Los Angeles with Hector Aguilar in Lead. (they had two names for the same guys).

In 1962 recorded as The Four Escorts for producer Steve Venet on Skyla Records with the sides_Don’t You Remember/My Special Girl.

Also in 1962 recorded as The Montereys for Trans American Records_Darling Send Me A Letter/(Darling (I Love You).

In 1963 associated with Kim Fowley and Spector’s guitarist, Ray Pohlman and recorded again as The Montereys for GNP Crescendo Records the sides_I Still Love You/(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons.

Acetate record of a group called The Hitch-Hikers. It is on Nola Recording Studios Label out of NY. probably released in 1963/64 with 7 songs which are cover songs.  They are;

-Love Bond.
-Coming Home.
-Since I Love You.

I do not find information about this group, I did not know if they are white, any information about them would be appreciated.

The A Side have a rockabilly sound, I don't have the B Side, maybe this have a doo wop sound.
