In early 1958 Joe Averbach owner of Fee Bee Records assembled a new group, The Versatiles built around Kripp Johnson and Chuck Jackson of The Del-Vikings, consisted of Kripp(Lead),Chuck(1st Tenor),Don Jackson (2nd Tenor) and Eddie Everette(Baritone/Bass).
They back up to Fee Bee's artist from Pittsburgh SONNY DAY (he assumed many names. real name; Davis Fatalsky) in his sides_Speedillac/Half Moon. released in March,1958 on the Chess subsidiary label Checker Records without any success.

Sonny continue recording until 1966 and The Versatiles back up another singer, Jerry Sheely and recorded their own material on Petite Records.
